The first ever South Kootenay Business Resource Expo called THRIVE is coming to Trail.   Presented by FortisBC, this interactive tradeshow style event will showcase local business service providers who will offer freebusiness advice and resource opportunities to the local business community.  Exhibitors featured include experts in innovation, technology, manufacturing, exporting, social media and much more.

Free to attend, THRIVE is an event designed for anyone seeking business support, information, resources and services to start or grow their business.  THRIVE is designed for:  

• Young entrepreneurs

• Students exploring training opportunities

• Business start-ups

• Experienced business owners

• Indigenous entrepreneurs

• Any one needing help with their business idea

Organized by Community Futures Greater Trail, in partnership with Lower Columbia Initiatives Corporation, the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce and the Skills Centre, THRIVE is the first of its kind in our region.  “We invite our business community, entrepreneurs and students to drop in and get acquainted with all the resources available for building a business.  Whether you’re considering starting a business or already in business, THRIVE will provide you an opportunity to take your venture to the next level.  And It’s free!” states Erik Kalacis, Executive Director of community Futures Greater Trail.

The Lower Columbia Initiatives Corporation (LCIC) was created in 2010 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society (LCCDTS). Our mandate is to provide economic development services within the Lower Columbia Region and to serve as the ‘first place of call’ as opportunities develop.

The LCIC works to develop a creative, dynamic and competitive business environment that fosters economic growth. The LCIC works collaboratively with the communities in the Lower Columbia region, local agencies, organizations and businesses to develop and implement strategies that will assist in strengthening our local economy.
